Hullo, It's me, Snowie, with a little quarterly (Sort of) Camp NaNoWriMo post. Isn't that exciting!!! Okay... So it's not all that exciting unless you really care about how things are going. That being said, I'll get on with the post.
At this very moment, I am at 17,420 words. The Goal for today is 18,333, so I still have a little bit of work to do tonight. I haven't fallen behind yet which is actually pretty exciting. I am resisting the urge to research Pittsburgh, New York, and Boston because I will spend more time researching than writing. That means that I will fall behind and have to have writing sprees till 3am for the rest of the week just to catch up. I've done it before, just look at my stats from last November, and it is not fun.
Those of you who read my plot and character outline on Google Docs know what happens in the beginning and the end and a little of the middle parts. Those who have read Love By Text on Figment know everything that will be said in this paragraph, so you can skip ahead. So, what has happened to Amy and Ben since the beginning? Amy and Ben have spent a lot of time together in close, confined spaces. Don't take that the wrong way. For about 60% of what I've written, Amy and Ben have been stuck in a car together. Ben took Amy to her sister's college because he was passing by the college on the way to his own college. Amy spent the majority of the trip there sleeping in the passenger seat. Then, a week or so later, they meet up in the woods after Ben finds out that his dad is getting married to Raina, Dad's girlfriend. Amy and Ben decide to get away together for a while and they take off on a three day car trip headed East. They plan to go through Pittsburgh, New York, and Boston.
What's next for Love By Text? Well, I am hopping some crazy things will happen to them on their road trip and that these things will make for an awesome week two. Hopefully by the end of Week Two, beginning of Week Three, I'll part Amy and Ben. Ben goes off to college, Amy starts her senior year of high school. And for about a month they don't talk until Amy sends Ben a letter. The letters and texting begin, Ben's Dad gets married, Amy is putting up with her crush and Jenna and dealing with her life, Raina (the Dad's new wife) gets pregnant, et cetera, et cetera.
As many of you know, I have put Love By Text on a writing website called Figment. And... People actually like it! I mean... Yeah, people like it. I knew they would. It's no surprise. I'm just that awesome. Playing it cool, playing it cool. As Harry Banks said, "If at first you do succeed - try to hide your astonishment." Right? It's just a little hard to wrap my head around, but the encouragement is really nice.
Alright. I have to go write if I want to hit 18,333 word before midnight! Good luck to everyone trying this insane writing challenge. And it sucks to be you if you aren't (Yes, I am talking to you Baker)!
Best of Writings!
~Snowie
*Update* Hit Today's (Well Technically Yesterday's) Word Goal of 18,333 words with twenty seconds to spare. OH YEAH! 18,342 words Baby!
